From Sunnyside Music Festival to Melvin Seals & JGB

What a year and a half Lazy Summer Home has had! In 2023, I had no idea that deciding to take on the keys, just to play in this band with good friends and great musicians would turn out to be one of the best musical decisions I’ve made in a long time (if not ever). We’ve added over 70 songs to our repertoire… incorporated truly unique originals compared to our rivals… performed at the Sunnyside Music Fest, played Albie’s 17th Annual Pig Roast (complete with a police visit while debuting Terrapin Station), ripped through the Denver bar scene at venues like the wildly unpredictable Lion’s Lair, the epic sounding Lost Lake Lounge, Moe’s BBQ, Grateful Gnome, So Many Roads Brewery… teamed up with some of the best local talent, i.e, Toadstool, The Buzz, Grand Caravan, Stephen Lear Band, Orca the Band, Shakedown Street, Everybody but Jay… most recently we opened and closed for the infamous Melvin Seals & JGB, pulling no stops and performing for so many different people of all wakes of life. Another highlight was our weekend cabin getaway in Fairplay, Colorado where we did an acoustic session called the Taco Tapes. We parted ways with drummer, Taner Clark and have had a round robin of professional players in Gary, Tom, and James (last names omitted for privacy).

Yes, for Lazy Summer Home 2023 was a whirlwind of growth and adventure. We’re already quite a few shows into 2024 and you’ll see our setlists below, but it’s time to keep on trucking. We’ve relied heavily on our local fan base filling our venues and getting the strangers to dance. Thank you so much! Super Lazy Summer Kudos goes to Sabrina, Annie, Kristen & Racina, Amanda, the Johns, Sarah, Shrek and Becca, Rob & Val, Johnny & Jamie, Albie, Moe, Rick & Carla, Josh & Kylie, Brian and fam, Chief Cherry and Paula… I can keep going, but for those I missed, please forgive and don’t be afraid to call me out; you’re making this possible and ridiculously fun!

It’s time to spread our wings and start hitting up more than the Denver metro area and getting regional to the area. We have too much of a good thing going not to share the music. We’re going to start scouting some other venues in nearby towns and what band can say their from Colorado without hitting up the Rockies?! For now, please join our mailing list and we’ll be in touch. Stay tuned for announcements and have a great Spring!
